Electronics: cap-fun PCB fabrication results
I used JLCPCB to fabricate my cap-fun circuit (see part 1). It was under $20 including delivery, for 75 copies of this small PCB (4 x 4 cm).

Options, the options!
And I’m glad to say the circuit works. Here it is with components soldered:

I’m happy with the quality.
I got it printed with 3 x 5 items per sheet, with easy-to-snap V-cut scoring:1

A pretty good experience overall. Their website is decently made and I was surprised by how much feedback I got during the fabrication:

And I appreciated how the detailed delivery updates came directly through the JLCPCB site itself:

Thoughts on seeing the printed PCB
- the soldering pads should be bigger, especially for the resistors, given that this is an educational board. This is just a matter of footprint choice during layout
- be nice if the board had a shortened link to the blog post printed on it
- I done goofed and the
1000uF
marking on the cap ended up on the wrong layer somehow, so it’s not visible on the board
the panelisation was done by JLCPCB, but they provide the option for you to upload self-paneled files ↩︎
